Summer is the time when I love to dig in the dirt! If mom or dad is planning to touch up the garden, make certain that you're protected from poisonous plants, scarry garden materials or yard chemicals!
Check with the ASPCA's (Animal Poison Control Center) to be sure that your plants are pet friendly. If you see plants that are not pet safe, make sure to tell your parents to place the plants in a fenced in area so that you won't have access.
Be sure that they use any pesticides or fertilizers according to label directions, and let your owner know that lawn chemicals must be dry before our little feet pitter patter in the yard. You may not know it, but snail and rodent bait can kill pets, so don't use it where pets have access. Besides, all pets have one thing in common...we don't want to see a dead snail or rodent...after all, we may mistake it for lunch!
